What can I do for my bird who flew thru hot steam and he isn't using that foot and won't put much weight on it?
My bird got out of his cage and in flight flew over a pan with hot steaming water. he flew right out but I think his foot or both were burned. He went two days before he stopped standing on his feet and just was balancing on the perch. He is eating and drinking but not talking and just in the last two days has been just on one foot as much as possible. he is unable to clench his foot around the perch or hang on to the cage. Will this heal on it's own? I can see a sore on the top of the one foot but can't tell if it's healing. no redness. Will he get better on his own? HELP!!

Sod is too expensive for my 11K square foot back yard. I want to grow my own lawn. Is it possible? How?Help!?
I heard that I should plant 3X the recommended seed in the same area. Is there a solution to keeping birds away? Should I cover seed w/ fertilizer, moss, hay straw? I live in the Central San Joaquin Valley in California. The climate is in the 70's to 80's right now w/ light rains. It will probably heat up @ 10 degrees next month. Hot summers. Thanks!

Well since I am just a housewife that learned to do all this on HGTV... =) it all came out great so I am sure you will have no problem. Also I am not to far from you, our weather is like the same. Rake the top dirt a little, no need to turn the soil. Lay seeds ($5.00 a bag for 1000 square feet) down with your hands, adding more is not necessary, the birds will leave it alone if you cover well. Cover with Manure (.88 cents at Home Depot) with your hands. Water 2 times a day. Results will be seen in 1-2 weeks. The weather is perfect right now to plant, don't wait until the sun is burning all of our lawns! Good luck.

Good will Bigfoot hunting "hello my name is luke, i live in a quiet little town in the shadow of Mt. Washington, I work as a biologist but so far I have put my knowledge towards cryptozoology" As luke sighed "and ohhh what a mistake". 3 Days later. Luke was sitting outside his house on his front porch looking at the birds feeding and fighting over the food, the dogs were barking, kids were riding their bikes, and skate boards. As always the neighbors were fighting attracting alot of attention as always. The mail man was coming down the road as always 11:15 A.M. As always. I sat and waited for my next study grant from the university. For along time I have been working on my Bigfoot study. As the mail man approached I pulled up out of the chair on the front porch and walked down my cracked and uneven side walk. I approched the mail man " hi luke hows the world treating you" the mail man rodney said. "well you know the usuall" I said reluctantly " ohh problems with the wife again" He said with a smile on his face " wow you must be a pyschic" I said laughing " yeah it happens well i gotta run 85 more houses to run, bye" he said putting his truck into gear and driving off with haste for the time i have taken from his busy schedule. I was walking up the side walk moving through and i saw that the universtiy had sent the check at least i hope. I opened the letter before entering my house. " Mr. jaminson we are sorry to inform you that the university is making some budgett changes we are sorry to say that we are removing four-thousand from your fund leaving you with two-hundred dollars please inform us of any development in your studies, Good day" "WHAT THOSE THOSE, OHHH, WHY, HOW COULD THEY OF DONE THIS" I said as the neighbors looked at me throwing my mail and kicking that stupid looking yard knome. "o.k. you know what this is worthless this people cant even think up a good excuse" I said as my face was blood red.. I walked in and i looked around and my wife had two suit cases in her hand "umm honey what are you doing" i asked with a blank look on my face. So i thought that the posistion called for a tall man that had some extre padding that had some experience. It said to come to the "long dong theatre" huh never heard of that one must be a new theatre that serves foot long hot dogs. I showed up at the theatre on the display it had two men with cowboy hats on and in the middle it said XXX huh i thought that movie was really old "oh well must be doing some sort of ceremony for it" So i walked in and i seen many different women looking at me. {not part of the story} SO im writing a story on the journey of a man wanting to find and capture bigfoot now im going to post the rest but i do need to know if anyone thinks this looks ok from where im going because im not going to release it all until i get some oppinions so anyone think its good so far please tell me?

Well, you really need to focus more on your punctuation and capitalization. Also, try to be more descriptive. It seems very choppy, but I think that just may be because you are not punctuating and capitalizing right.

What To Do About Wild Birds In Trouble?
A couple of weeks ago, we checked our grill, and there was a huge nest with five eggs in there. Since the eggs were already layed, we didn't bother it. The chicks have hatched, and when I came home from school today, my sister and I saw two on the ground. It is very hot outside, about 85 Degrees. We live in Kentucky. One chick was in the shade, so we didn't bother it. My sister said it looked like the mother was looking for it, but couldn't find it because it was under the grill. The other chick was in the sun, and it was breathing hard. We decided to move it, but gently used two spatulas to pick it up and put it in the grass and shade about a foot away so it wouldn't roast. What can we do? Any advice is helpful. The other chicks are in the grill, and I was thinking on Monday, when they are a bit older, we should open it so they can get out easy.

I would have just replaced them in the nest. Can you do that? If they JUST hatched - chances are they won't survive outside of the nest once the temperature drops below 70 degrees (assuming it does at night in Kentucky. I'm in Florida and it's been in the high 50s at night and 80s during the day). PS: Birds have a horrible sense of smell so touching them won't illicit "abandonment" - this is an old wives tale basically to prevent (aka guilt trip) young kids from fooling around with baby birds.
